THE FOUNDER SOPHIE MECHALY

Born in Paris, Sophie grew up in the world of textiles from a young age. Raised in a family where the main value is hard work, Sophie quickly dropped out of her management studies to work at the age of 19 for the fashion designer Azzedine Alaïa.

Then in her parents' company "Le Garage," known for its printed shirts, iconic in the 1980s.

In 1995, the young designer decided to strike out on her own and launched her brand, which she named after her two young sons, Paul and Joe.

AMBITION THE PROJECT OF A LIFETIME

Paul & Joe has become, in 29 years, a symbolic brand, playing on classic codes between prints and finishes, but also masculine and feminine.

The man and woman of Paul & Joe are independent and curious. Joyfully nostalgic and always chic, they do not flirt with passing trends of a season: dresses, pantsuits, shirts, and coats are their trademarks.

Today, Paul & Joe is no longer just a ready-to-wear brand. It has become an international reference in lifestyle with the lines Paul & Joe Eyewear, Paul & Joe Beauté, and the latest additions Paul & Joe Art de la Table and PJ Night.

Sophie Mechaly has made her independence a strength and a true state of mind that drives her daily.

Passionné de mode, de vintage, de musique et d'imprimés, Adrien Albou, fils de Sophie et fondateur de Garçons Infidèles est le nouveau directeur artistique de la collection Homme, depuis l'Hiver 2022. Il développe des collections pointues, modernes et contemporaines. Sa dernière collection Automne-Hiver 2024 " Youth Revolution " met le costume à l'honneur, dans l'esprit de la Nouvelle Vague.

THE MANUFACTURING MADE IN FRANCE

"The majority of our clothes are made in France. Over the years, I have built a real network of partners. In terms of materials, 50% of the fabrics are sourced in Italy and the rest in France, in embroidery houses located in the north of France and in Castres, in the Southwest, for wool, for example. On the ready-to-wear pieces, a Made in France label. Paul & Joe works with around twenty workshops located in the north of Paris. The suit jackets, blazers, and coats feature beautiful hand-stitched topstitching. We really draw inspiration from couture for our wardrobe and tailoring."

A WORKSHOP IN THE HEART OF PARIS

Since its creation, it is within its workshop on Rue Commines, in the Marais district, that the Paul & Joe collections come to life.
