In homage to Emmeline Pankhurst, an English feminist figure and activist from the end of the 19th century, the Paul & Joe woman affirms her ultra independence. Combining assumed femininity with pieces that look like a “gentle woman farmer”, Sophie Mechaly emancipates these 2022 “suffragettes” by offering a durable and functional wardrobe with a luxury that is as modest as it is casual. The tweeds are fitted, the corduroys, the embroidered knits, the ruffled taffetas, the rhinestone feathers and the silks printed with designs signed by the painter Zoe Hawk.
Collection Autumn Winter 22
Boosted by ennobled collars and gigot sleeves, dresses, jackets and coats summon daring cuts whose past is resolutely anchored in our time. This season also celebrates the great return of the Paul & Joe man. By entirely entrusting the artistic direction to her son, Adrien Albou, the designer ensures the transmission here. It is illustrated through a collection with accomplished tailoring that matches this free and determined woman.
